Internships and Volunteers

Experiential Learning Internship

CLRP offers an interactive ten week internship for undergraduate and law students. Each week combines reading with experiential learning and a reflection. Participants will be exposed to various legal issues experienced by clients with mental health conditions and will examine case law, participate in mock hearings, attending meetings with stakeholders, and more. The program culminates with an independent research project or presentation, an exit interview and a career mentoring session.

Applicants undergo a competitive application process, including an interview for candidates in the final stage.

This experience does not offer funding to applicants.

Fall Semester Applicants

Completed applications must be received by no later than June 1. Accepted candidates will be notified by July 15th

Spring Semester Applicants

Completed applications must be received by no later than October 1. Accepted candidates will be notified by November 15th

Summer Applicants

Completed applications must be received by no later than February 15. Accepted candidates will be notified by March 15th

Volunteers

Volunteers are considered based on the needs of the organization, the individual’s skillset, the experience of the volunteer and the amount of time the volunteer can commit such as one specific date, on-going, etc. and whether the volunteer is a lawyer, paralegal, high school student, etc.

Possible needs include clerical tasks, clean outs, filing, volunteer counsel, data entry, legal research, etc. Please complete the application and someone will be in touch.
